Exact Change

I wrote Exact Change in December, 2011, for Mary Fukushima-Kirdendoll and Jeff Loeffert to premiere at the Saxophone Conference(?) in DC the following month. The full sketch is here. Below, a performance they gave of it at Cortona Sessions the following summer.

All the sketches

Incidentally, all the sketches I have scanned and posted are here.

Blue Horizon

Blue Horizon was written for the New Music National Young Artist Competition in Chicago in 2013. That competition didn't happen, though Peters did a print run of it. I didn't know it was out until I saw it in a music store in Lexington (and I bought it, of course); I posted a picture of the cover on Instagram, where Holly Roadfeldt saw it, and promptly premiered it in 2019 and did several other performances. Holly's performance at the Avaloch Institute below. The complete sketch is here.

Piano Concerto 3x (defunct)

I started a third piano concerto in 2015 at Ragdale and threw all of it away. All of the junk is here.

Mind the Gap #17

Mind the Gap (Prélude #17, 2012) is dedicated to John Mackey. N.B. all the préludes in Book II are named Mind the Gap. Complete sketch here, and performance by Yukiko Sekino below.

Hyperblue

Hyperblue (1991-93) is a piano trio commissioned by the Fromm Music Foundation for the Itzkoff-Shapiro-Rider Trio (the original tempo marking is a fantasy). The full sketch is here. A recording here

Terrestrial Planets

Terrestrial Planets (2014) is a concerto for flute and wind ensemble (one professional contact in the wind ensemble world says it's Grade 4, and I don't know what that means) written for Mary Fukushima-Kirkendoll, very very very very quickly. The full sketch is here. Performance recording unavailable.

Bump

Bump (2013) is Prélude #29, from Book III — in which every title is onomatopoeia. I have no memory of writing it, but the sketch is in my hand, so I suppose I did. The complete sketch is here, and below is Maria Paola Parrini's premiere of it in 2018.
